We are excited to announce that our article, "The challenges and opportunities of academic migration", has been published on the blog of the European Association of International Education (EAIE)! The waves of migration facing the world in the wake of war and climate change have their own effects on higher education and research. This article focuses on the problems faced by academic refugees and the opportunities they have to offer their host countries. Opportunities that these countries must grasp soon before this talent is lost.

This article explores the complex and multifaceted issue of academic migration, from the challenges faced by migrants to the opportunities that they can bring to their new institutions. We argue that academic migration can be a positive force for both individuals and institutions, but that it is important to be aware of the challenges involved and to take steps to mitigate them.
It provides a comprehensive and nuanced overview of a very complex issue. We hope that it will help to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities of academic migration and that it will inspire others to do more to support academic migrants and realise this untapped potential.
